Terms of Service

These terms of service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bathrooms & Plumbing website and any services provided by Bathrooms & Plumbing (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About Us

Bathrooms & Plumbing is a trading name providing plumbing, heating, and bathroom installation services across the United Kingdom. We operate as a service provider and may use vetted third-party tradespeople (subcontractors) to carry out work on our behalf.

2. Services

We provide plumbing, heating, bathroom fitting, and related services as described on our website. The specific scope of any work will be agreed in writing via a fixed-price quote before work commences.

3. Use of Subcontractors

Bathrooms & Plumbing may use vetted third-party tradespeople (subcontractors) to carry out some or all of the work. Where we do so:

  • We verify that all subcontractors hold the appropriate qualifications and certifications for the work they carry out, including Gas Safe registration where applicable
  • Subcontractors attend your property as representatives of Bathrooms & Plumbing
  • Your contract for the work remains with Bathrooms & Plumbing unless explicitly stated otherwise
  • We accept responsibility for the quality of work carried out by our subcontractors to the extent set out in these Terms

4. Lead Referrals

In areas where we do not directly provide services, we may refer your enquiry to a vetted third-party tradesperson. Where this happens:

  • We will share your contact details and job details with the referred tradesperson
  • Any agreement for work is between you and that tradesperson directly
  • Bathrooms & Plumbing acts as an introducer only and accepts no liability for work carried out by the referred tradesperson
  • We recommend you obtain written quotes, verify qualifications, and check insurance before instructing any third party

5. Quotes and Pricing

  • All prices quoted on our website are guide prices only and do not constitute a binding offer
  • Before any work begins, we will provide a fixed-price written quote based on an assessment of the specific job
  • Fixed-price quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise
  • Additional work not included in the original quote will only be carried out with your prior agreement and at an agreed price
  • Prices include VAT where applicable. If we are not VAT-registered, prices are inclusive of all charges

6. Payment

  • Payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing
  • For larger projects, we may require a deposit or staged payments. These will be detailed in the quote
  • We accept bank transfer, cash, and card payments where available
  • Late payments may incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998

7. Cancellation and Cooling-Off Period

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013:

  • If you arrange work remotely (via our website, phone, or email), you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date you accept a quote during which you can cancel without reason
  • If you request that work begins within the cooling-off period, you agree to pay for any work already completed up to the point of cancellation
  • If work is fully completed within the cooling-off period with your agreement, you lose the right to cancel

Cancellation after the cooling-off period:

  • You may cancel at any time before work is completed
  • You will be liable for the cost of any work already carried out, materials already purchased, and any reasonable cancellation costs
  • To cancel, contact us at [email protected] or call 01480 584868

8. Our Obligations

We will:

  • Carry out all work with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015
  • Use materials that are of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose
  • Ensure all gas work is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer
  • Comply with all relevant Building Regulations and industry standards
  • Leave your property in a clean and tidy condition after completing work
  • Provide reasonable notice if we need to reschedule

9. Your Obligations

You agree to:

  • Ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area
  • Inform us of any known hazards, asbestos, or structural issues
  • Make timely decisions on materials and specifications to avoid delays
  • Provide access to water, electricity, and parking as reasonably required

10. Guarantees

  • All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion, unless a longer guarantee is stated in writing
  • Manufacturer warranties on products and materials are in addition to our workmanship guarantee and are subject to the manufacturer’s own terms
  • The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or interference by third parties
  • To make a guarantee claim, contact us within the guarantee period with details of the issue

11. Limitation of Liability

  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or in connection with our services shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the specific work giving rise to the claim
  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of use, or damage to property not directly caused by our work
  • Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law
  • We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (see Force Majeure)

12. Timescales

Any timescales provided are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We will make reasonable efforts to complete work within the estimated timeframe but accept no liability for delays caused by factors outside our control, including supply chain issues, weather, access problems, or the discovery of unforeseen issues during work.

13. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: severe weather, flooding, fire, pandemic, government action, supply chain disruption, or utility failure.
