Wet Room Installation in Biggleswade
A wet room is a great choice when you want a step-free shower, more usable floor space, or a luxury hotel-style finish. Done properly, it should last decades without leaking or staining. Done badly, it ruins the room below within a year. The difference is all in the tanking and the falls.
Around Biggleswade we get steady demand from two very different groups. Families on the newer estates — Kings Reach, Saxon Gate, the Poets — want wet rooms in their en-suites for the modern look and the easier cleaning. Older residents in the surrounding villages of Sandy, Potton, Henlow, and Stotfold are usually after accessibility: a step-free shower so they can stay in their own home as their needs change. Both need exactly the same thing technically — a watertight floor and walls, the right drain, and a fall that actually works.
We tank the floor and at least 1.8m up the walls with a proper waterproof membrane, set the falls into the screed, and use linear drains where the layout allows. Then we tile, fit the screen and shower, and pressure-test everything before sign-off. For homes with very hard water like ours, we'll talk through limescale-resistant fittings and whether a softener is worth fitting at the same time.
